First Fig Culinary Adventures offers private cooking classes which feature recipes using local, seasonal and organic ingredients.
The First Fig kitchen is located at the home of Chef, Sydney Dye, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Each class offers an incredible culinary adventure admist the lush grounds, gardens and elegant architecure of this charming
Spanish Colonial home.
Many of the ingredients used in the cooking classes are from the surrounding gardens including herb beds, vegetable gardens, and extensive citrus trees. When you visit, take time to see the olive orchard, the stone fruit orchard, as well as the many kumquat, pomegranate and fig trees.
The eggs used in cooking are from the hen house, which is shared with four brightly colored lovebirds. All of this is under the watchful eyes of Chester and Sawyer, the miniature donkeys and their pasture mates, the sheep, llamas and goats.
Classes start with appetizers on the patio and a chance for you and your guests to unwind and prepare for an amazing culinary experience!
Menus and recipes are customized for each class.
Classes can be hands-on (for groups up to 12) or demonstration (for groups up to 24).
Chef Sydney will create a menu based on the freshest of local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Recipes that are easy to follow, perfectly seasoned, deliciously prepared and beautifully served are our forte!
